Shovkat Zakirov

Shovkat is an expert in oil and gas field and in state and public construction. He has 30 years of experience in the national gas industry. He held senior positions in the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan overseeing the implementation of large-scale investment projects in the oil and gas industry, which were implemented with participation of foreign companies such as Petronas, KNOC, CNPC.

• Born 3 August, 1967 in Tashkent.
• Studied design and operation of gas and oil pipelines, gas storage facilities and tank farms at the Tashkent Polytechnical Institute.
• He is a graduate in state and public construction of the Academy of State and Public Construction under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
• He began his career In 1998 at CNG filling station, the Sredazavtogaz Territorial Administration, as 1st grade cylinder filler. Later he worked as an operator of a compressor unit and an engineer in the production department of the CNG filling stations.
• In 2000, he worked as the head of the gas filling station-1 in Tashkent, and then as the first deputy director of DP TU “Uzavtogaz”.
• From 2001 to 2002, Shovkat was Chairman of the Board of the Joint Stock Company Avtogaz. Then after that, for two years he was Deputy Chairman of the Board, and then Chairman of the Board of Uzvneshneftegaz.
• In 2004-2019, he worked as head of the group responsible for implementation of agreements under the Ministry of Economy of Uzbekistan, after which he moved to a similar position at the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
• Since 2021, he has been working at Saneg as Deputy General Director for the development of gas projects.
